Photographing Productions
As part of our commitment to document as many undergraduate productions as possible, Yale College Arts employs students to serve as Yale College Arts Production Photographers. Production Photographers are available to document undergraduate dress rehearsals and performances, which they then edit and upload onto the Yale College Arts Photo Archive on Flickr . Photographers are also available for promotional photo sessions. There is a maximum of three hours per promotional photo session and four hours per dress rehearsal or performance.
To request a photographer for your production, contact daisy.abreu@yale.edu a minimum of one week prior to the event. Please include the date, time, and location for your session in your request. Yale College Arts Production Photography sessions must be held on campus.
Before submitting your request for photography, be sure you have completed the following:
- Met with your Undergraduate Production advisor
- Submitted your event to the Yale College Arts Shows and Screenings page
- Requested a House Manager for your production
- Set up ticketing or registration for your event using YaleConnect or the Yale College Arts Eventbrite account.
A photographer will be assigned to your production once these tasks are completed by a member of your production team.
The Archive is a Yale College resource provided to students involved in the performing arts and constitutes the single most comprehensive collection of production photos that exists on campus. Image collections are tagged by date, venue, or event type, and individual photos can be downloaded in various sizes, making it an excellent resource for students to share images with their teams and for building portfolios. Yale College Arts does not charge productions for this service but does ask that participating productions credit Yale College Arts and the student photographer by name, when appropriate.
